An Unfolding Landscape (artwork)

Unfolding Landscapes (2023-Ongoing) is a series of over one hundred works by Charlie Godet Thomas which explore the space between the written and the visual with the poetic and paired back approach which is synonymous with Thomas wider practice. The works all take the form of a salvaged envelope, which as a material have already had a life moving the written through space prior to Thomas’ intervention, but which then provide different parameters and suggestions as to how they should be approached, be it the number of folds, the shape of a tear or the imagery of a postage mark or stamp.
