This zine collects materials from Sara Cwynar’s 2024 Baby Blue Benzo, a video and suite of photographs. Its title, compressing benzodiazepine with a certain rare and expensive Mercedes Benz, draws our attention across a field of contemporary cultural products flouncy with yearning and yet curdling with stray anxiety. The zine, as you might have noticed, is not bound but is instead, a sheaf of images folded at their midsection and nestled around one another. — Lucas Blalock.
